Hotel Taxandria
Turnhout 2014
Ever since 1906, the Taxandria museum has focused on the history of the town of Turnhout and its surroundings ‘de Antwerpse Kempen’. Hotel Taxandria represents the new museum exhibit of the Taxandria museum. The 16th century building – het Huis metten Thoren (the house with the tower) – used to be inhabited by prominent families and was often used as a guest house for kings and noblemen. These and other guests now reside within some of the museum rooms, describing the regional history.
